OK Merkur Maribor celebrate fourth Mevza League victory in a row

OK Merkur Maribor have extended their winning streak in the Mevza League 2020/21 to four matches a row. Yesterday, the Slovenian team needed 100 minutes to win in four sets (25:18, 25:22, 17:25, 26:24) at home against SK Zadruga AICH/DOB of Austria, and so they increased their points to 13, wint a 4-2 win-loss record.
Moreover, the winners captured the top spot in the current standings, one point ahead of their compatriots and defending champions ACH Volley Ljubljana.
Rok Mozic and Ahmed Ikhbayri top scored for the winners with 20 and 18 points, respectively, while Max Landfahrer and Konrad Formela made 15 points each on the other side.
Next week, SK Zadruga AICH/DOB will play two consecutive matches against VK Dukla Liberec from Czech Republic scheduled for the Round of 16 of the CEV Volleyball Cup 2021. Both matchups will be taking place in the JUFA-Arena Bleiburg on Tuesday and Wednesday.
