Challenge Cup: Kamnik only two sets away from 1/8 finals

In the first of two consecutive matches scheduled for the 16th Finals of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2020/21, Calcit Kamnik destroys in straight sets (25:12, 25:15, 25:17) OK Vardar Skopje from North Macedonia. The result is especially remarkable since the home team could not count on three of their starting players, like Slovenian national team member Mitja Gasparini.
Miha Bregar top scored for the home side with 12 points, one more than those scored by Jovica Simovski of OK Vardar Skopje, and Jan Brulec registered as many as six aces for the hosts.

Saลกo ล talekar, middle blocker of Calcit Volley Kamnik: โ€œThe game ended quickly. We did not have much information on the visiting team, but we entered the game without underestimating the opponent. We were able to give our younger players a chance to play. The game was, to be honest, a one-way traffic. We served well, blocked well, got some nice balls from the defence and this made our job much easier. We won today, and we will try to repeat this tomorrow, and move on to the 8th Finals.โ€

The re-match will be taking place on Wednesday evening in Kamnik as well.
