France: Cannes and Narbonne win the advances of Round 8

The first two matches valid for Round 8 of the French Ligue A were played today. Both ended in four sets, Cannes wins at home against Toulouse and Narbonne in Nantes.
In details, what a match tonight in Cannes!
The hosts, after dominating the first set, played a stellar second set, managing to recover after Toulouse always had always the advantage, even 18:22, on the final. Although the guests tried to reopen the game by winning the third set, Cannes deservedly managed to win the fourth, and taking 3 very important points for the standings. MVP of the match was middle-blocker Averill, who scored 18 points, including 5 winning blocks, 2 aces and 69% in attack, while the top scorers was Williams, with 21. Faure made 17 for Toulouse. Interestingly, Cannes literally blocks the rivals: 16 winning blocks, exactly 10 more than the guests!

In the other match, Nantes suffered the sixth defeat in championship, this time at home, against Narbonne.
In any case, Cannes is temporarily on the top of the standings together with Tourcoing, at least…for this week, because the matches of both rivals, Tourcoing and Tours, are postponed!
