France: Cannes wins in Poitiers and Nice destroys Ajaccio in advances of Round 9
Two French Ligue A advances were played tonight and, if there will be no last-minute twists, only one Round 9 match was postponed for COVID.
Poitiers is literally overwhelmed by Cannes in the first 2 sets, but then they starts playing and touches a sensational comeback, surrendering only 14:16 at the tie-break (after having recovered from 8:12) when Koncilja, 20 points and top scorer among the winners (including 3 aces and 6 winning blocks), blocks the attack of Neves Atu (the best of his team with 21 points). A great evening in any case for the Cannes’ middle-blockers who score 39 points in two, and Averill is MVP of the match for the second time in a row.
In the other match Nice (led by the opposite Andric, author of 21 points) overwhelmed the reworked Ajaccio (on the bench Martinez Gion, José Romero Gonzalez and Quesque), who are still the only team without a win. Ivan Kolev (10 points) was the only player with a double digit performance for the guests…
