France: Cannes destroys Sete in recovery match of Round 7

In the recovery match of Round 7 (all matches scheduled were postponed for COVID), Cannes destroyed Sete on the road with a clear 3-0.
As for the game, very balanced first set, until Aciobanitei blocks Inovel Romero (13:15) and Williams puts down the ball of 13:16. Advantage that grows with a point from Averill and an ace by Aciobanitei (15:20). 3 winning blocks in a row give the guests 15:23, while to close the set is a mistake by Baranek from the service line: 18:25.
In the second set, Baranek himself puts down the ball 4:1, but an ace by Gelinski and an error by Tupchii equalize the score, 9:9. Cannes runs away again, with Aciobanitei in attack and the winning block of 9:11. An advantage that increases with an attack by Klyamar, 12:16 and Sete forced to stop the game. Sete replaces Inovel Romero with Picard. A Williams out attack brings Sete close to the rivals, 17:19, but after a series of spectacular defenses, the Australian opposite puts the ball down at 16:21. After 2 consecutive aces by Baranek (20:23), Cannes asks for a time out, but Hanes attacks out and closes the set.
After a balanced start, even in the third set Cannes tries to escape on 5:8 and succeeds, until the hosts equalize the score at 15:15. Williams is blocked, and Sete fly on 17:16. On 20:18 Cannes stops the game and the reaction comes immediately with a point by Averill and a great turn in the service of Aciobanitei: an ace and a half point, finalized by Averill himself. Time out for Sete, but now it’s too late: Williams and Klyamar in attack give the guests the 21:24 and Williams closes set and match, 22:25.
Williams was the top scorer for the winners with 15 points and 60% in attack, while Averill plays another amazing game: 11 points, 70% in attack, 3 blocks and one ace. Baranek tallied 14 on the other side of the net.
