Yesterday’s programme of the 2020/21 Polish PlusLiga brought a duel between the leaders and vice-leaders: Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle literally trampled over Trefl Gdańsk in the Round 18, and 3-0 is the final result (25:17, 25:21, 25:22). Thus, ZAKSA kept the invincibility with 13 wins in as many games. On the other hand, Trefl’s winning streak that consisted of eight games came to an end. Kamil Semeniuk top-scored ZAKSA with 14 points, while American David Smith made 5 blocks. Mariusz Wlazły and German Moritz Reichert tallied 13 points apiece on the losing side who’s five points behind ZAKSA in the standings (38 vs 33).
On the other matches, straight sets victory for Indykpol AZS Olsztyn on the field of last-placed MKS Bedzin (Schott MVP of the match), and an away victory also for GKS Katowice at tie break on the field of Cuprum Lubin.
