Russia: Lokomotiv defeats Gazprom Surgut in postponement of Round 22
1 min readThe titleholders Lokomotiv Novosibirsk are finishing the regular season of the 2020/21 Russian Volleyball Championship in victorious style. After returning empty-handed from the last tournament of the pool stage of the CEV Champions League in Friedrichshafen, Germany, they continued their winning streak in Superliga Parimatch regular season that now consists of 4 matches.
At the closing of Round 22, the reigning champions – currently 6th-placed – beat Gazprom-Yugra by a 3-1 (19:25, 25:23, 25:21, 25:20) and kept the chances, even though slim, of grabbing the vice leader’s position in the standings (the last one that guarantees a direct progression to the playoffs) in the next few rounds. Serbian Dražen Luburić top-scored the winner with 21 points.
