The experienced Italian coach Ferdinando De Giorgi is officially no longer coach of Lube Civitanova.
This information has been confirmed by the club itself.
“As Volley Lube informs that we parted ways with the coach Ferdinando De Giorgi and his assistant Nicola Giolito. It was a difficult decision and the period after winning the Italian national Cup was not very prosperous for the team. The club, that will reveal the name of the new coach within the next 24 hours, is grateful to De Giorgi and Giolito for the good work that has been done and for contribution to the club, writing indelible pages of Lube’s history,” announce the italian powerhouse on their official page.
Probably a defeat against Zaksa on the home court was a drop that spilled over the glass but, in any case, the club board decided to part ways with the experienced coach.
The first candidate for taking over the team was Gianlorenzo Blengini.
Both sides had a mutual agreement to make cooperation after the end of this season, however, Blengini take over the hot seat much earlier. He has officially returned to the bench of Italy’s Lube after four years. The current head coach of the Italy National Team commanded the Civitanova side in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons, winning the national championship and Cup.
