Bulgaria: Hebar end Neftohimik’s 4-season title streak and win a historical championship crown!

1 min read

Hebar Pazardzhik won a historic first championship title of Bulgaria.
After prevailing in Game 3 of the 2020/21 WINBET Superliga playoff finals against 3rd-seed Neftohimik 2010 Burgas by a 3-1 (21:25, 25:18, 25:20, 25:14), Hebar Pazardzhik added the championship title to the previously won award for the regular-season winners.
The players coached by Aleksandar Popov thus broke the 4-season title streak of the rivals Neftohimik and took revenge on them for losing in the last playoff finals that were held prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
Canadian Bradley Gunter was Hebar’s most prolific player in this decisive game with 22 points, while Teodor Todorov set up 4 blocks and Petar Karakashev made 80% reception (10 digs, 50% excellent).
Zhani Zhelyazkov scored 15 points for Neftohimik.
