Poland: Mistrz! Jastrzębski win title after 17 years! Final for 3rd place to Game 3

After a first set to forget, PGE Skra Belchatow (even without the injured Sander and Katic) wins 3-1 the 3rd-4th place final Game 2, which is worth a place in the next Champions League, against VERVA Warsawa ORLEN Paliwa. The series will therefore be decided on Wednesday, in decisive Game 3.
In final for title, after 17-year of wait, Jastrzębski Węgiel became the Polish champions!
They dethroned Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, whose title defense was predicted by most in the country given the regular season campaign which they won and during which they were undefeated for 27 games at one point.
However Jastrzębski, the 2nd-seed, quite unexpectedly defeated the rivals in the first match of the 2020/21 PlusLiga playoff finals, and the team coached by Italian Andrea Gardini presented itself really well in Game 2, as well, and took the first league gold medal since 2004. Led by Tomasz Fornal (16 points), Ukrainian Jurij Gladyr (6 blocks), and Rafał Szymura (73% attack; 11/15), they prevailed in four sets (22:25, 25:19, 27:25, 25:23).
Jakub Bucki, Jastrzębski opposite, was named MVP of the final series.
