3 min read

In Zadar, in a three-team Pool A, Croatia emerged victorious from a clash against Sweden. Halfway through the Qualifiers, the Netherlands are a leader of this pool with a perfect score, while Croatia is currently second.

In Pool F in Tbilisi, Greece consolidated their leader position as they stay unbeaten after defeating Azerbaijan. Despite a significant advantage in the first set, Azerbaijan were unable to keep the lead against the rivals, who lead this Pool with 3 victories and 8 points, while Azerbaijan remain third with one victory and 3 points so far. Nikolaos MILIS (GRE) and Agil AGHAZADE (AZE) finished as the top scorers with 12 points each and 46% attack efficiency.
On the same Pool Montenegro, currently 2nd, outspiked the winless hosts Georgia with a straight-set victory. Ivan Zvicer was the top scorer of this game, scoring 13 points for Montenegro, who performed well in attack, scoring 37 winning spikes collectively.

Belarus are currently on second place in Pool G, only one point behind the leaders Portugal, while Norway are the only winless team in the group.
Six aces seal the deal for Belarus in the second set
Portugal stay unstoppable in the same Pool and, in the middle of the race for tickets to the Final Round, they are a leader of their pool with 8 points. The hosts, Hungary tried their best to have a chance against them, but they could find no answer for great serve and very strong performance in blocking (14 kill blocks, 8 by Filip Cveticanin) of Portugal. Thanks to a very good reception (72%), setter Miguel Tavares was named MVP of the match, while the captain Alex Ferreira (who tallied 7 points in the opening set) contributed in team’s victory with 19 points. Krisztian Padar madd 9 points and was the top scorer of Hungary, that are currently third in the standings with one win and two losses.

The clash for EuroVolley tickets will be resumed with second-leg tournaments that will start next Friday, May 14.
