Mevza League: Waldviertel and Maribor victorious on Wednesday matches

Yesterday evening, on Wednesday, Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel needed 80 minutes to celebrate a clear straight sets victory on their home court over VKP Bratislava from Slovakia. Partially it was 25:22, 25:23, 25:22.
With this victory, Waldviertel have increased their points in the charts to 5 after two matches.
Daulton Sinoski and Samuel Taylor-Parks were the top scorer among the winners with 9 points each, while AdriΓ‘n Vanco recorded 13 points on the other side of the net.
“I am very satisfied with the performance of my team. The players that came off the bench helped us a lot today,” said Waldviertel’s head coach Zdenek Smejkal after the match.
Later last evening, OK Merkur Maribor emerged victorious from their duel against TJ Spartak Myjava. Sloveniaβs national champions claimed a four-sets (25:12, 23:25, 25:12, 25:21) home win to top the current standings with six points. Ahmed Ikhbayri was the man of the match ending the match with a total of 23 points, while his teammate Roland Gergye also contributed with 21 points. Matus Konc made 16 for the guests.
The Mevza League will continue with next weekend.
