Russia: Kuzbass and Belgorod redeem for surprising defeat in Round 1, tie break win for Ural Ufa

Three matches were played yesterday. Kuzbass Kemerovo and Belogorie Belgorod redeemed for unsuccessful starts to the 2021/22 season in the Russian Superliga Parimatch.
Thanks to the top-class performance of Brazil National Team member Alan Souza, Kuzbass returned home from an away match of the second round Superliga Parimatch with a set of three points. The opposite put down 30 points through a 62% attack against Gazprom-Yugra, while interesting also the 100% in attack (out of 11 balls) of the outside-hitter Pakshin (entered the second set), helping his team redeem for a quite surprising loss in the first match (2-3 against Dinamo-LO).

Playing a five-setter against the champions Dinamo Moscow in the opening match of the competition, Belogorie Belgorod showed all that they will not be such easy prey as last season. For the first time in the new arena, they swept ASK by 3-0 (25:17, 25:15, 25:22). Moroccan Mohammed Al Hachdadi top-scored Belogorie with 16 points, including four blocks.

Ufa achieved a painful tie-break success on the field by the modest Yugra Samotlor Nizhnevartovsk, with the Frenchman Marechal decisive in serving and in attack.

Today, Sunday, focus on the big match between Dinamo Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg which worths the assignment of the national Super Cup. Will the team of coach Sammelvuo be able to interrupt the losing streak against the team from the capital?
