2 min read

Round 4 of 2021/22 Polish Plusliga continued on Sunday with a big upset: Indykpol AZS Olsztyn defeatthe (so far) unbeaten Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie without losing a set, partially 25:18, 25:20, and 25:23.
And, before the match, Aluron were clear favorites.
The team coached by Montenegrin Igor Kolaković won the first three games in PlusLiga, while Olsztyn had only one win thus far and head-to-head history not going in their favor. American Torey DeFalco (65% in attack and 60% efficiency, 2 blocks and 3 aces) and Karol Butryn (MVP pf the match, 65% in attack and 56% efficiency) were the topscorers on the winning side with 18 points each. Conte’s 16 points (58% in attack and 50% efficiency) are not enough, also due Kovacevic’s less brilliant performance than usual (45% in attack and 32% efficiency).

The current Polish champions Jastrzębski Węgiel, excited by Wednesday’s victory in the Super Cup, welcomed PGE Skra Bełchatów in a PlusLiga big classic.
Before to the match, Skra was undefeat too, but tonight, with the exception of the third set, they were literally powerless.
Atanasijevic (-8% attack efficiency) and Ebadipour (4% attack efficiency) were canceled, and Kovac fielded Schulz and Taht in the second part of the match, but the only one to provide a positive attack performance is Kooy (17 points, 59% in attack and 41% efficiency).
Among the hosts very good performances for Gladyr, decisive especially in serving with 3 aces and 3 errors on 24 serves, while Tomasz Fornal was the most prolific player with 15 points, including four blocks, with 43% in attack and 30% efficiency. Jakub Popiwczak had 70% reception (20 digs, 35% perfect).
