Two matches valid for Round 7 of Austrian Volley League were played today, on Friday October 29. Victory for the leaders Waldviertel, still unbeaten in this competition, and Weiz, in increase.
The leaders Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel lived up to without lot of problems their role as a favorite in the duel with the Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt, winning 3-0 (25:14, 25:11, 25:18) in their home court in Zwettl, to boast 20 points from seven games in the charts! Daulton Sinoski was the top scorer for the hosts (who were better in all elements) with 15 points, while nobody on the other side of the net reached a double-digit.
In the Styrian derby between TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg and VBC TLC Weiz, the guests prevailed after an exciting tie break (25:22, 22:25, 17:25, 28:26, 15:8). The third victory in the seventh AVL match mean that head coach Michael Murauer’s team now sits at fifth place in the charts! In short, Weiz is leader in the lower half of the table ahead of Klagenfurt, Hartberg and the newcomers Hypo Tirol. About the match itself, the hosts were absolutely better in serving, scoring 13 aces (against 4 by the rivals) , but this wasn’t enough to win a game that was led in score by an unstoppable Mark Kremer (in photo – archive), author of 30 points including 2 winning blocks.
