Poland: Jastrzebski Wegiel down Lublin, a great Czarni Radom defeat Warszawa in tie-break in advances of Round 14

Two matches valid for Round 14 of Plusliga were played on Monday.

Jastrzebski Wegiel have scored another victory to keep the second spot in the charts by defeating newcomers LUK Lublin (without starting outside hitter Wlodarczyk) in straight sets at home 25:15, 25:21, 25:22 without major problems.
Jan Hadrava was the top scorer in the home team with 13 points, while Tomasz Fornal ended the game with 12. Surely Czech opposite, also named MVP of the match, did not make regret the injured Boyer who, according to local media, has returned to Poland a few days late after Christmas holidays.
On the other side, Jakub Wachnik had 13 points.

In the afternoon match, modest Czarni Radom managed to score a great victory over the third-placed team Projekt Warszawa, making a big turnaround after losing the first two sets. They defeated the rival away on the road by 2-3 (28:26, 25:19, 17:25, 24:26, 13:15).
The team from Polish capital suffered this resounding defeat depite a 2-0 lead and then of 23-20 and 24-23 in the final of the 4th set that the guests reopened with 2 consecutive blocks over Grobelny (23-23) and then closed with Grobelny’s error in attack (24-25) and the. the one by Petkovic (24-26).
In the tie-break coach Anastasi fielded Jan Fornal in place of Grobelny, but it is he who misses the 2 decisive attacks (11-12, 12-14) before the final point of MVP Rusin, fielded from the 3rd set and protagonist of the comeback also with 6 aces.
Aleksander Berger with 16 points and Rafal Faryna with 15 were the best scorers among the winners, while Pawel Rusin also contributed with 14 points and Michael Parkinson 12.
In the home team, Bartosz Kwolek and Dusan Petkovic had 17 points each.
