Mevza League: three easy points for Mladost and Myjava

2 min read

On Friday evening, HAOK Mladost Zagreb celebrated their sixth MEVZA League win in a row, by defeating with a clear 3-0 (25:19, 25:22, 25:14) Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel. Already on Thursday, Croatia’s reigning national Champions had secured three points against the same rivals on home soil.
As a result, the winners moved up to third place in the current standing now on 19 points from a 7-2 win-loss record, while Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel are 6-7 and have almost no chance of making it to the Final Four in Bleiburg.

Kruno Nikacevic, captain HAOK Mladost Zagreb: “We were a bit nervous in those two games against URW, we also made some unnecessary mistakes. But the most important thing is that we recorded six points for the standing. There are still a few matches to play, but I think everything is going according to plan.”

No less convincing was the performance of TJ Spartak Myjava on the field of UVC Holding Graz.
The Slovakian side gave no chance to the rivals, winning 3-0 (25:20, 25:20, 25:19).
Therefore, seventh-placed TJ Spartak Myjava increased their points to ten (3-8), while Austria’s reigning national champions suffered their twelfth loss in 13 games played so far.

The competition will continue on Saturday, when Final Four tournament hosts SK Zadruga AICH/DOB will be facing fourth-placed OK Calcit Kamnik.
