Challenge Cup: Panathinaikos to quarterfinals

Two sets were enough for Panathinaikos AC Athens to become third team qualified for quarterfinals after Estonia’s Tallin Technical University and Turkey’s Halkbank Ankara, qualified without playing.
And the team commanded by Dimitrios Andreopoulos did it, also defeating Ukraine’s Epicentr – Podolyany Horodok at tie break (25:17, 25:22, 23:25, 19:25, 17:15), achieving the best result on the international scene in the last decade.
After 10 years, since they successfully overcame the group stage of the CEV Champions League 2010-2011, secured the qualification to the Top-8 in one of the European cups.
Charalampos Andreopoulos top-scored the winners with 15 points, while Athanasios Protopsaltis served 5 aces.
