1 min read

With semifinals played today, both finalists of Austrian Volley Cup 2022 were determined.

Super favorite Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel was the first team to reach the final, trampling over VBC TLC Weiz (3-0, partially 25:14, 25:11 and 25:21) in their Zwettl stadthalle in only 63 minutes.
The hosts were better in all elements, with 13 winning blocks against only 3 of the rivals, 48% of team attack (vs. 35%), 7 aces (zero of Weiz), as well as in reception, with 62% positive and 44% perfect of the winners, against 35% and 17% of Weiz.

However, the real show was delivered by UVC Holding Graz and VCA Amstetten NÖ. The Mostviertler prevailed after a thrilling tie break (25:21, 23:25, 20:25, 25:19 and 11:15) in the Raiffeisen Sportpark.
Sergej Drobnic was the top scorer of the match with 23 points for the hosts, including 1 ace and 1 block, while Patryk Napiorkowski tallied 20 points for the winners.
Amstetten has already won the Austrian Cup four times!

The Austrian Volley Cup finals will take place on February 5th, and we are waiting for to know the venue…
