Austria: Waldviertel destroys Ried in Top Round

Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel celebrated the third victory in their fourth Austrian Volley League Top Round game in their Stadthalle Zwettl against UVC Weberzeile Ried (without captain Tomek Rutecki, injured) by 3:0 (25:21, 25:16, 25:14) to level the score with SK Zadruga Aich/ Dob on the current charts.
However, the Carinthians have played one game less so far.
Top scorers of the game were Audrius Knasas (17) and Marek Sulc (12) for the winners, and Niklas Stooß (9) and Markus Berger (8) for Ried.
Top Round continues next Wednesday, when Aich/Dob will face defending champions UVC Holding Graz.
On Sunday there are two games in the AVL Zwischenrunde, the intermediate round: VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt will face Hypo Tirol Volleyballteam (4 p.m.) for a playoffs ticket, while VBC TLC Weiz will face leaders TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien at 1 p.m.
