2 min read

The big news of the day?
Led by a super Russell, who ended the game with 33 points, Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza come back from 0-2 to beat Itas Trentino in a super-exciting clash to tie series!

But, in order, two more teams joined Cucine Lube Civitanova (who yesterday defeated Vero Volley Monza in four sets) in the 2021/22 Italian SuperLega Credem Banca playoffs semifinals, but Itas Trentino isn’t among them, as No. 6 Piacenza extended the quarter-final series against No. 3 to a decisive Game 3. Relying on American Aaron Russell (33 points, including 5 aces) and his compatriot Maxwell Holt (4 blocks), Piacenza came back from a 2-set deficit to tie the series at 1-1.
The match seemed it’ll never end, as it lasted for nearly two and a half hours, with the tie-break that had a total of points like a normal set (24-22), ending in 35 minutes!
Partially it was 21:25, 29:31, 25:19, 25:20 and 24:22.
Game 3 is scheduled next Sunday, at 6.30 pm, on the field of Itas Trentino!

On the other matches, No. 4 Leo Shoes PerkinElmer Modena survived the visit to Milan, by beating No. 5 Allianz Milano in the tie-break, and going to the semis.

Kamil Rychlicki was awarded MVP of the match with 15 points and 65% in attack.
