Poland: Resovia still undefeated! Champions ZAKSA fall in straight sets and suffer third defeat in 7 games! Jastrzębski and Stal Nysa ok

Asseco Resovia Rzeszów are still undefeated in the 2022/23 Plusliga even after the match against the reigning champions of Poland and Europe, Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

In the big match of the seventh round of the competition, they swept ZAKSA in just three sets (29:27, 25:19, 26:24). Thus, the Rzeszów side remained one of the two teams that are unbeaten in the season so far with a perfect score of 7-0, claiming the second position in the charts after another club with a perfect record, Jastrzębski Węgiel, who today won on the field of Trefl Gdańsk with the same result (23:25, 17:25, 14:25).
This is already the third defeat of the reigning CEV Champions League winners.

Interestingly, Resovia managed to prevail in head-to-heads with ZAKSA only twice in the last 10 games!
In front of nearly 4,000 spectators in a packed Hala Podpromie, the home side was led by American Torey DeFalco, who ended the game with 18 points and 4 blocks.
lAleksander Śliwka scored 15 for ZAKSA.

In the third match of the day, PSG Stal Nysa defeat Indykpol AZS Olsztyn in straight sets too, partitally 25:20, 25:19 and 25:20.
It is a great season also for Stal Nysa, now at third place in the current charts with 16 points.
