Poland: Aluron back temporarily to the top! Lublin defeat ZAKSA at tie break in advances of Round 17 (!!!)

Last Round before Christmas of 2022/23 Plusliga, Round 23, started today with first two games.

Waiting for the results of other two sides who are fighting for first place, Jastrzębski Węgiel who will face Olsztyn tomorrow on the road, and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, who will play against Barkom on Friday in the game that will close the round, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie beat Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom 3-0 (25:23, 25:17, 25:21) in front of their home fans to regain the top of the standings. At least, temporarily.
Bartosz Kwolek was named MVP of the game for fifth time this season, and he ended the game with 14 points through 77% in attack and 69% efficiency, including 3 aces, while Uros Kovacevic also contributed with 20 points and was decisive, as usual.

Second game of the day is an upset! LUK Lublin, currently at 13th place in the standings, after taking an amazing first set ended 39:37, defeated super favorite Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle by 3-2 (39:37, 18:25, 17:25, 25:23, 15:10).
Nicolas Szerszen was named MVP of the game with 19 points, 2 aces and 53% in attack, while Szymon Romac was the top scorer on the winning side with 25 points.
Aleksander Śliwka put down 29 points for ZAKSA.
