Round 17 of 2022/23 Plusliga continued today with another great upset.

The reigning champions and vice champions Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Jastrzębski Węgiel both collapsed.
Yesterday, a surprise in Lublin, today a surprise in Olsztyn!
Following a 3-2 win of LUK Lublin over the reigning champions Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle on Tuesday, Indykpol AZS Olsztyn down vice-champions, Jastrzębski Węgiel, today by 3-1 (25:19, 25:18, 21:25, 29:27).
Moreover, the same Olsztyn beat both ZAKSA and Jastrzębski in a five-day span! And now, the winning series of the wards of Argentine expert Javier Weber consists of five matches. Thus, the change of the leader after the 17th round has been confirmed: losing to Olsztyn, Jastrzębski won’t regain first place in the standings. After the 17th round, the leader will be Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie!
Karol Butryn was again the main protagonist for Olsztyn, scoring 23 points today including 4 aces, while Dutchman Robbert Andringa made 4 blocks, and Jakub Hawryluk made 71% reception (14 digs, 29% perfect). The Czech Jan Hadrava scored 19 points including 5 blocks for Jastrzębski.

In the other two games of the day, PSG Stal Nysa defeated Cuprum Lubin 3-0 (25:21, 25:21, 25:21) while, in the evening, Projekt Warszawa sweep GKS Katowice with the same result (25:17, 25:21, 25:19).
