Poland: Olstzyn stun Aluron! Three points for Ślepsk

Other two games of 2022/23 Plusliga Round 20 were played today.

In a one-sided encounter that went quite unexpectedly that way, Indykpol AZS Olsztyn prevailed over the vice-leaders Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, taking advantage of the weakened visitors.
Aluron, in fact, didn’t take a single set (25:20, 25:20, 30:28) in a match in which they had to go out on the court without top scorer Uroš Kovačević, who became a father yesterday and got a day off from the club.
Regardless, Olsztyn played a great game, and given that they defeated three title favorites in less than a month (Jastrzębski, ZAKSA, and now Aluron, respectively), such a result today shouldn’t be underestimated!
The third set was played a high level and was the only one in which the Aluron basically entered the court. The visiting side was leading 9-5 and later failed to convert three set points.
Because of a defeat, Aluron missed the opportunity to climb to the top of the current standings.
Karol Butryn scored 20 points including four aces helping Olsztyn move up from the 10th to eighth place, while MVP American Taylor Averill had 93% attack (13/14)!
Dawid Konarski notched 11 points for Aluron.

In the evening, all easy for Ślepsk Malow Suwałki who down Barkom Każany Lwów 3-0 (25:21, 25:18, 25:15) without any problem. Setter from Argentina Matias Sanchez was named MVP of the game while Bartosz Filipiak ended the game as top scorer with 18 points through 65% in attack.
