Poland: leaders Resovia down Bełchatów in super-classic. 3 points also for Gdańsk and Jastrzębski

Other three games of 2022/23 Plusliga Round 20 were played today.

The biggest Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship classic in front of more than 4,200 spectators in Rzeszów ended with PGE Skra Bełchatów destroyed by the home side of Asseco Resovia – 3-0 (25:20, 25:21, 25:13).
Although two of the previous three matches between these two rivals had exciting tie-break resolutions, this time it was very different. At the packed Hala Podpromie, only one team dictated the conditions and it was the hosts.
Regardless of the places in the table, the clashes between these two sides were always electrified, and this was also the case in this match. After all, Resovia and Bełchatów won 16 national titles combined and their rivalry became the biggest one in Poland, especially since the turn of the 21st century.
The gap that separated both teams in the table (Resovia are in the first place, while the rivals are 11th) was reflected in the clash.
The leaders dominated, mostly thanks to Maciej Muzaj, who ended the game with 17 points. Serb Aleksandar Atanasijević was the only player in double digits on the losing side, with 10 points.

The day continued with Trefl Gdańsk who celebrated a four sets win on the field of Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom (25:18, 23:25, 17:25, 35:37), with 19 points by Bartłomiej Bołądź while, in the evening, Jastrzębski Węgiel down as predicted last-placed BBTS Bielsko-Biała 3-0 (25:17, 25:19, 25:19) without any problems.
