Poland: Gdańsk defeat Bielsko Biała in advance of Round 26 – Zhang Jingyin MVP
2 min read
Round 26 of 2022/23 Plusliga started today with ad advance between last-placed BBTS Bielsko-Biała and Trefl Gdańsk.
The visiting side, who confirmed itself to the 6th place in the standings, struggled more than expected and, after losing first set, eventually managed to win the game by 1-3 (25:23, 14:25, 22:25, 23:25).
Jingyin Zhang, the first-ever Chinese player ever in Plusliga, ended the game as top scorer with 23 points through 76% in attack (71% efficiency) including 1 winning block and 6 of his team’s 14 aces, and was deservedly named MVP, well supported by Mikołaj Sawicki, who also contributed with 21 piunts including 5 aces. Jake Harnes was once again the most prolific player on the losing side with 18 points, but he wasn’t enough, and Bielsko-Biała remain at a very dangerous -6 from second-to-last Czarni Radom (who will face on Sunday PGE Skra Bełchatów).
