After Games 1 played yesterday against the odds, at least, looking at placements in regular season, Semifinals best-of-five series of 2022/23 Plusliga continued today and, also today, Champions League finalist and fourth-placed Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle won on the field of the leaders Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, this time in four sets (21:25, 25:27, 25:18, 18:25) to take the lead in the series 2-0.
And, also today, Bartosz Bednorz was the most efficient player of the match: this time he was almost unstoppable, with as many as 29 points in just four sets, 81% and 78% efficiency in attack, 2 winning blocks and 5 of his team’s 12 aces.
Maciej Muzaj and Torey Defalco scored 19 points each on the losing side, but they were not enough, and now their path towards the final is very hard, as Resovia have to win 3 games in a row: two on the field of ZAKSA, on April 26 and 27, and then the decisive Game 5 in front of their home fans.

The second game of the day was a great show for all volleyball fans, even if the series is 0-2 too, always not in favor of the team with the best placement in regular season.
In 173 minutes of play, the other Champions League finalist Jastrzębski Węgiel and third-placed in Plusliga, managed to win on the field of No.2 Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie after a thrilling tie break (20:25, 29:27, 25:27, 29:27, 8:15). After a first set dominated by the visiting side, Aluron, still without Uros Kovacevic, react, and the next three sets were played on a very high level. But then the hosts literally collapsed in the decisive fifth sets, closed with a clear 8-15.
Tomasz Fornal ended the game as top scorer with 23 points to his name through 58% in attack, 3 blocks and 2 aces, while Czech opposite Jan Hadrava also contributed with 20 (1 ace and the same percentage in attack), and the same number of points of Marcin Waliński, on Aluron’s jersey.

Both series will continue on Wednesday, on the field of the two sides who lead the best-of-five series 2-0, Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Jastrzębski Węgiel.
