After punishing Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle in Game 1 in front of their home fans, Jastrzębski Węgiel did the same on the field of the rivals also in Game 2 of Final series and, after losing first set, winning the game in four without major problems (26:24, 22:25, 15:25, 19:25).
The players around head coach Marcelo Mendez are now 2-0 and a step away from the title.
Again a great performance from the duo Boyer (22 points through 63% in attack, 1 block and 4 aces) – Fornal (MVP of the match with 21, 66% in attack, 1 block and 1 ace), who, with 43 points in two, made the difference in a match in which ZAKSA started better.
After first set, in another preview of what will be Champions League Superfinal in Turin, Italy, the winners found their rythm and, able to level the score by winning secone set 22-25, they managed to close the game keeping the full control, completing the 1-3 final.
ZAKSA suffered again the opaque performance of Bartosz Bednorz, decisive in the previous games but not in this final series. Today he made 11 points but with only 42% efficiency in attack (11/24, blocked once). Lukasz Kaczmarek ended as top scorer with 18 points, followed by Aleksander Sliwka with 15, but they weren’t enough to unlock the series.
Next Wednesday, Jastrzębski Węgiel may have a chance to close the series and to win the title in front of their home fans!
In Final for third place, After a great win at tie break in Game 1 on the field of Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie fall at home and suffer a 1-3 (25:13, 22:25, 23:25, 17:25) defeat, after easily won the first set.
