Eurovolley2023: 3 points for The Netherlands and Czech Republic in Pool C. Romania stun France in Pool 2, and other 2 points for Portugal

Pool Stage of 2023 CEV Eurovolley continued today with the four-sets win of The Netherlands over a resilient Denmark – 1-3 (18:25, 24:26, 25:23, 20:25) with 19 points by bomber Nimir Abdel-Aziz, including 2 winning blocks and an impressive 77% in attack, and 18 by Marteen Van Garderen.
Three points also for Czech Republic who, always in Pool C in Skopje, North Macedonia, defeated modest Montenegro in just three sets (25:18, 25:20, 25:15), mostly thanks to a great performance in blocking, scoring 14 points from this element.
However, to cause the sensation of the day is Romania who, in Pool D in Israel, down Olympic Champions France (but already qualified) by 1-3 (23:25, 25:16, 18:25, 21:25).
The return of Earvin Ngapeth in starting six did not last long, as he was replaced after two sets with only 27% in attack.
Despite a solid performance in reception, to condemn France are the 34 direct errors, but also Adrian Aciobanitei, author of 20 points and an excellent 77% in attack.
Romania thus is qualified, just like Portugal who won at tie break the hard-fought clash against Türkiye (26:24, 21:25, 15:25, 28:26, 15:13).
