Group phase is over at the African Volleyball Championship in Cairo!

The group phase of the CAVB African Nations Championship held in Cairo, Egypt, is over.
With its conclusion, the matchups for the round of 16 have been decided.
Given that there are 15 teams participating in the tournament, Libya, leading Pool D, progresses directly to the quarterfinals because Pool A having only three teams.

In a fierce duel that went to five sets, Gambia overcame Senegal, partially 22:25, 25:14, 25:19, 25:27, and 15:13.
This victory ensured the winners the 3rd place in Pool D, leaving Senegal at the bottom in the 4th position.

The round of 16 games scheduled for September 8th are as follows:
• Cameroon (2C) – Burundi (3A)
• Rwanda (2D) – Tanzania (3B)
• Chad (2B) – Gambia (3D)
• Tunisia (1B) – Senegal (4D)
• Algeria (1A) – Ghana (4C)
• Morocco (1D) – Mali (4B)
• Egypt (2A) – Kenya (3C)
