Asian Games: Pool Stage is over with several exciting games. What happens now?

The pool stage of the 19th Asian Games Volleyball Tournament is over, and today’s matches determined the qualifiers for the next round, the Round of 12

In Pool A, hosts China dominates Kazakhstan, last year’s AVC Cup champions in a thrilling encounter. China managed to prevail, defeating the rivals in three sets with scores of 25:20, 25:23 and 25:20. This victory secured China’s spot in the round of 12, together with with the same Kazakhstan, as the top two teams from Pool A.

In Pool B defending champions Iran demonstrated their dominance in by defeating Bahrain in a dramatic four-set match, with scores of 25:16, 25:19, 22:25 and 25:20.
This victory marked Iran’s second win in a row, and secured also their position at the top of the pool. Bahrain, on then other hand, finished in second place, while Nepal third.

In Pool C Korea played a tough game in the first set against Cambodia but managed to emerge victorious with scores of 25:23, 25:13 and 25:15. This win secured their second-place in the Pool, with India leading the pool and Cambodia taking the third position.

In a decisive game in Pool D, Chinese Taipei dominated Mongolia in straight sets, winning with scores of 25:22, 25:20 and 25:21. Pakistan topped the Pool, while Chinese Taipei secured the second position. Unfortunately, Mongolia’s journey in the tournament came to an end.

In Pool E, Qatar secured the top spot by defeating Hong Kong 3-1, partially 25:21, 25:13, 22:25 and 25:21. Meanwhile, in Pool F, Indonesia secured the second-place by defeating Afghanistan in straight sets (25:18, 25:21, 25:17).

Japan claimed the top spot in Pool F by defeating the Philippines in straight sets too, partially 25:19, 25:14, and 25:23.

And what happens now?
With the pool stage that has ended, the competition continues with the top two teams from each pool advance to the round of 12.
Moreover, there will be cross matches featuring B1 vs. E2, A2 vs. F1, A1 vs. F2, B2 vs. E1, C1 vs. D2, and C2 vs. D1! Stay tuned…
