NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six: USA to the top in Edmonton

In Edmonton, Canada, at Edmonton Expo Center, is running the NORCECA Pan American Cup Men’s Final Six.
The tournament, started on the European night of Tuesday, 19th September, will be closed on 24th September.
The team involved are Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and hosts Canada’s “Next Gen”.
The second day of the competition witnessed successive wins for the USA, Cuba, and Canada, with the USA and Canada marking their second wins and currently leading the standings.
The USA dominated the first match of the day, securing a victory over Mexico with a 3-0 set score (25:19, 25:17, 25:19). Jordan Ewert led the USA’s attack scoring with 17 points, while Josué López Rios made nine points, emerging as the most prolific player for Mexico.
The second clash of the day saw Cuba recovering from their previous defeat, defeating Puerto Rico by 3-1 (25:22, 19:25, 26:24, 25:18), while the final match brought another victory for Canada, defeating the Dominican Republic team 3-1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:16, 25:22) after a four-set effort.
Reflecting on the overall standings, the USA is positioned to the top, with two wins and no lost sets, boasting 10 points.
Canada follows closely with an undefeated record, while Cuba and Mexico are placed third and fourth, with 6 and 3 points respectively with a 1-1 record.
Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic are yet to claim a victory, the they are in the fifth and sixth places with 2 and 1 point respectively.
