Road to Paris 2024: Slovenia to Tokyo without Gregor Ropret
1 min read
Slovenia will participate in the Qualifiers for Paris 2024, without starting setter Gregor Ropret, who suffered a serious ankle sprain.
The injury currently prevents him from jumping and therefore from training normally.
As reported on the federation’s website, given that the player’s health has the highest priority, he will remain in Slovenia where he will continue physiotherapy.
Ropret injured his ankle in the semi-final of the last European Championships against Poland: at 12-12 in the third set, the 34-year-old player ended up on his opponent’s foot, falling off the block, and had to leave the court.
Dejan VinÄiÄ came to help the team, who will form the pair of Slovenian setters together with UroĹĄ PlaninĹĄiÄ also in the Japanese capital.
The other players are outside hitters Tine Urnaut, Klemen Äebulj, Rok MoĹžiÄ, Ĺ˝iga Ĺ tern and Rok BraÄko, opposite Nik MujanoviÄ, middle blockers Alen Pajenk, Jan Kozamernik, SaĹĄo Ĺ talekar and Danijel Koncilja, and liberos Jani KovaÄiÄ and Urban Toman.
