Road to Paris 2024: all result of Day 4. Another win for Germany, Italy KO!

Day 4 of FIVB Road to Paris Volleyball Qualifier has been completed today in Japan, China and Brazil.

After a few ups and downs across the past weekend, it seems that Serbia and Japan have found momentum in Pool B in Tokyo, as both sides secured their third wins, beating Finland and TĂŒrkiye respectively.
And now they trail behind undefeated United States and Slovenia, but remaining in the race for the two slots available for next Olympic Games.
Earlier in the day, both United States and Slovenia continued to display their dominance with their consecutive fourth victories, currently leading the board with a perfect 4-0 win-loss record.
They stand tall with 12 points each, with their position determined only by set ratio.
USA, showcasing an immense strength, has dropped only one set throughout the tournament, while for Slovenia is a little bit different, dropping their second set in a face-off against Egypt.
Egypt, on the other hand, has been a surprising force, challenging all their top contenders.
However, Slovenia bounced back to clinch a 3-1 (23:25, 25:22, 25:17, 25:14) victory. Rok Mozic emerged as a top scorer for the winners with 21 points, while Reda Haikal and Abdelrahman Eissa led the scoreboards for Egypt with 15 and 14 points respectively.
USA swept away Tunisia in a one-sided 3-0 (25:11, 25:12, 25:14), a rival that is yet to mark its first set win in Tokyo. To led the winners in scoring Kyle Ensing with 13 points, while Thomas Jaeschke added 10.
Serbia’s clash against Finland saw an amazing performance from opposite Aleksandar Atanasijevic, who scored 17 points with a 67% success rate in attack, the best in their 3-0 (25:21, 25:22, 25:22) victory. On the other side of the net Joonas Jokela ended the game as top scorer with 19 points to his name.
Boosted by the roaring support from excited local fans, Japan delivered a great performance against TĂŒrkiye, closing the match with a 3-0 (25:15, 25:20, 25:19) win. Japan’s Yuji Nishida scored 15 points through 57% in attack, while team captain Yuki Ishikawa adding 14 points. Kaan Gurbuz and Mirza Lagumdzija were the top scorers for TĂŒrkiye, both scoring 12 points.

Intense Battles Heat Up also in the FIVB Road to Paris2024 Olympic Qualifiers Pool C.
In the thrilling race to secure the two tickets to the Olympic Games in Xi’an, Argentina and Belgium locked horns in an epic five-set clash. And, as a result, emerging victorious, Argentina surpassed the rivals in the current pool standings!
Argentina, after establishing an initial two-set lead, had to meet the fierce resistance from Belgium, who bounced back to force a fifth set. However, Argentina clinched the tie-break, scoring the decisive 3-2 (25:22, 25:23, 18:25, 21:25, 15:13) victory. Facundo Conte’s 21-point contribution was decisive for the winners, while Belgium’s Ferre Reggers dominated the game with 27 points.
Kicking off the day, Bulgaria surprised everyone with a commanding 3-0 (25:23, 25:21, 30:28) win over the Netherlands.
Led by captain Tsvetan Sokolov, author of 13 points, Bulgaria showcased their determination. Again, Netherlands’ opposite and captain Nimir Abdel-Aziz was the top scorer of the match with 16 points despite the defeat.
Meanwhile, favorite Poland effortlessly maintained their unbeaten run with a 3-0 (25:21, 25:19, 25:14) sweep again Mexico. Tomasz Fornal’s 10 points led their success, solidifying their position to the top the current charts.
Canada secured a 3-1 standings (and nine points) after their decisive 3-0 (25:19, 25:22, 26:24) win against hosts China.
Stephen Maar led the winners with 20 points, closely followed by Eric Loeppky’s 17-points.
On the other side of the net, Yu Yuantai was the best performer scoring 14 points.

Also Pool A in Rio de Janeiro continued not without upsets.
In fact, less than 24 hours after beating Brazil in front of their home fans, Germany performs another stunning game, a monumental achievement, by beating Italy.
Showing no signs of fatigue, Germany displayed an amazing performance, keeping their momentum from their previous match to overcome the World Champions by 3-1 (26:24, 18:25, 25:20, 25:23) at the iconic MaracanĂŁzinho.
This win ensures they sit comfortably to the top of Pool A, as the sole undefeated team!
Again, veteran György Grozer were the absolute man of the match as he enchanted volleyball fans with an impressive 31-point performance, while his teammates Moritz Reichert and Anton Brehme, completed his efforts with 12 points each.
On the losing side, Italy showcased resilience with plays from Yuri RomanĂČ, who scored 16 points, and Alessandro Michieletto who added 14 points.
Earlier in the day, Czech Republic achieved their maiden victory in the tournament by overcoming Iran 3-1 (25:17, 25:22, 21:25, 25:20) too.
The Czech offensive duo Lukas Vasina and Jan Hadrava were decisive, scoring 26 and 22 points respectively.
In the third match of the day, Cuba defeated Qatar with a clear 3-0 (25:12, 25:21, 25:16). Miguel Angel Lopez from Cuba was the top scorer of the match with 12 points, followed by Javier Concepcion with 9 and Jesus Herrera with 7 while, on the other side of the net, Renan Ribeiro was the most prolific player securing 10 points.
Close the picture the hosts Brazil who struggled more than expected against Ukraine, closing the game only at tie break (36:38, 25:20, 21:25, 25:18, 15:11).
Now they are at third place in the standings with 7 points, behind leaders Germany (12) and -2 from Italy (9 points).
