CEV Cup: all teams qualified to the Main Round (except one).

After the victory in straight sets of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in Austria, and the consequent progression to the next stage of 2023/24 CEV Cup, and waiting for the decisive clash between Epicentr-Podolyany Horodok and Decospan VT Menen, scheduled tomorrow, 6 games were played today and so we know the names of other 6 teams who joined the Polish Plusliga side to the main Round.
All easy for Kladno Volejbal from Czech Republic, who easily defeated at home Belgium’s Caruur Volley Gent 3-0 (25:17, 25:14, 25:20) in just 68 minutes of play with 10 aces and 22 points from Kristaps Platacs (62% in attack, 1 block and 5 aces).
Recall that the team coached by Frenchman Arnaud Josserand suffered a tie break defeat in first leg, a week ago!
OK Vojvodina Novi Sad from Serbia, also defeated at tie break in first leg, today celebrated a 3-1 home win (25:20, 25:18, 19:25, 25:18) against Ukraine’s VC Zhytychi-Polissya Zhytomyr, so they progressed to the next stage too
All easy for the big favorite Arkas Izmir from Turkey, who easily prevail at home against Croatia’s Mursa Osijek, 3-0 (25:21, 25:13, 25:19), without Georg Grozer (on the bench) but better in all elements, including blocking (11 to 4), from the service line with 10 aces to 4, but also in attack with 61% of team performance to only 37%.
Not a good day, again, for the two teams from Switzerlad. Both ended their games at tie break, but due the first leg result, this result wasn’t enough.
Volley Amriswil prevailed over Serbia’s Radnicki Kragujevac, 3-2 (23:25, 25:23, 25:23, 24:26, 15:9), while Volley Schönenwerd has been defeated from Greece’s AONS Milon NEA Smyrni Athens, by 2-3 (17:25, 25:19, 22:25, 25:22, 13:15).
In first leg, Kragujevac prevailed after a hard-fought 3-0, while the Greek side won in four sets.
Prediction respected also in French derby in which Nantes Rezé Metropole Volley confirmed themselves better than their compatriots Narbonne Volley with a 3-1 (25:17, 21:25, 25:22, 25:23) home win.
