3 min read

Did you known that Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel was the first team to steal a point from champions of everything HYPO TIROL volleyball team in the Powerfusion Volley League Regular Season? 🙂
In Round 6 of 2023/24 season, they recover from a two-set deficit in front of about 600 home fans in Zwettl, but eventually succumbed to the Innsbruck side, 2-3 (14:25, 18:25, 25:21, 25:18, 12:15).
Paul Nusterer and Krzysztof Gulak scored 16 points each for the home team, while Luan Weber (16) and Nicolai GrabmĂźller (14) were the top scorers for the winners.
HYPO TIROL is now one point behind league leaders TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg, while Waldviertel is still fourth.
Runners-up SK Zadruga Aich/Dob finally ended their negative streak, as they celebrated a 3-0 (25:20, 25:16, 25:22) win on the field of VCA Amstetten NÖ to move to the seventh place. Interestingly, for Aich/Dob it was the second league win of the season after three defeats. Top scorers in the Johann-Pölz-Halle were Markuss Cielavs (11) and Samuel Jackman (10) for the hosts, and Bryan Camino Martinez and Kristof Horvath with 12 each for the winners.
UVC McDonald’s Ried secured fifth place with a 3-0 (25:23, 25:23, 25:20) win on the field of now lasy-placed VBK WĂśrther-See-LĂśwen Klagenfurt, led by Tomasz Rutecki (11) and Joachim Hesselholt (10). Ben Stockhammer (12) and Simon FrĂźhbauer (11) were the most prolific players on the losing side.
TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien also celebrated an away win, by beating VBC TLC Weiz 3-1 (25:20, 22:25, 25:21, 25:21).
On Sunday evening there will be a Styria derby between UVC Holding Graz (3rd) and TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg (1st) at the Raiffeisen Sportpark.
Like HYPO TIROL, both teams are still undefeated.
