Italy: Monza back to fourth place. Modena stun Trento who suffered first defeat of the season! Verona beat Milano at tie break to close Round 9

Round 9 of 2023/24 Superlega CredemBanca ended today with last three games.
To open the day the game between newcomers Farmitalia Catania and Mint Vero Volley Monza, ended in four sets in favor of the latter, partially 16:25, 25:22, 12:25 and 18:25. The fight was only in second set, and then Monza literally dominated the game, led by MVP Ran Takahashi, author of 19 points including the one that closed the game. Noteworthy also the performance in blocking of the winners, who scored as many as 18 points from this element!
In second match of the day Valsa Group Modena stun titleholders Itas Trentino who, in front of more than 4000 fans at Modena’s PalaPanini, suffered a four sets defeat (21:25, 27:25, 25:22, 25:16) due the hosts’ resilience. Modena in fact managed to react after losing first sets, and then also to make a comeback from 13-16 and 15-18 in second set, that closed with the score of 27-25. A game, however, with lot of errors in both sides, 34 for Modena, 29 for Trento, but with a Davyskiba decisive above all in second and third set. MVP Bruno sent in double digit all his spikers, with Sapozhkov, Davyskiba and Rinaldi who
scored 17 points each, while the rivals suffered above all the bad day of Rychlicki, who closed the match with 10 points with only 32% in attack.
Close the picture the tie break win of Rana Verona over Allianz Milano, 3-2 (23:25, 25:21, 23:25, 25:21, 15:11). Noumory Keita was named MVP, and this victory marked Verona’s first home win of the season, ending a four-round winless streak.
