France: Round 13 is over without major upsets - Chaumont remain to the top. Tours continue to win!

Round 13 of 2023/24 Marmara Spike League has been played today with all its 7 scheduled games that marked the end of volleyball year.
Round 14 is scheduled already on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Leaders Chaumont struggled a lot, but eventually managed to down Toulouse after a game that has been solved only at 17-15 of the fifth set, 3-2 (25:19, 22:25, 25:22, 21:25, 17:15). In front of almost 2000 home fans, Victor Cardoso was decisive with 28 points to his name through 55% in attack including 2 winning blocks and 2 aces, while Patrick Indra also contributed with 17. For Toulouse, now with 26 points
in the standings and at 5th place but very close to the top 4, Maxime Hervoire tallied 22 points, all in attack, through 59%.
Behind the leaders, Nantes Rezé back to the second place after a straight sets home win over Plessis Robinson after a hard-fought first set: partially it was 29:27, 25:19 and 25:18. Now at -4 from Chaumont, the winners were led in score by a great Mathis Henno, top scorer of the game with 18 points through 77% and 1 ace!
At -2 from them and both with 27 points in the standings Tourcoing and Saint Nazaire, who earned three points today.
The first one down Montpellier in four set (25:23, 25:17, 24:26, 25:22), and not without problems, led in score by Pablo Koukartsev (19 points including 2 winning blocks and 1 ace through 38% in attack), while the second one easily defeated newcomers Saint Jean D’Illac in straight sets (25:21, 25:15, 25:15) after just one hour and 15 minutes of play, and 18 points from top scorer Jordan Ewert (58% in attack with 2 aces and 1 block).
After a disastrous start, titleholders Tours continued their winning streak celebrating their fifth victory in a row in the competition by beating Sète without major problems, 3-0 (25:17, 25:22, 25:18) in front of more 3000 home fans to reach the 7th place, while Paris down Nice with the same result, 3-0 (25:20, 25:21, 25:20), with 61% of team performance in attack and 20 points from top scorer and MVP Kento Miyaura (72% in attack, incldo 1 ace and 1 block, with only one error and blocked once!).
Close the picture the four sets win of Poitiers over a Narbonne that collapsed and remain to the bottom of the standings after two wins in a row, 3-1 (26:24, 21:25, 25:20, 25:22). Metin Toy ended the game as top scorer with 23 points to his name through 67% in attack with 1 block and 2 aces, well supported by Alexandros Raptis, who also contributed with 16.
