Playoffs of 2023/24 CEV Cup started today with first three games.
Led by an almost unstoppable Karol Butryn, MVP and absolute top scorer of the match with 27 points, including 3 aces, 1 block and 68% in attack, Poland’s Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie celebrated a well-deserved straight sets win over Italy’s Allianz Milano, 3-0 (25:23, 25:19, 25:19), who also suffered the rivals’ serves (11 aces). Yuki Ishikawa was the only player in double digit for the losing side with 12 points.
Predictions respected in the game played in Spain, in which Turkey’s Arkas Izmir defeated the hosts Río Duero Soria by 1-3 (23:25, 25:23, 17:25, 16:25), with 12 winning blocks, 22 points from top scorer Efe Mandiraci and 18 from Nicholas Hoag while Ukraine’s SC “Prometey” Dnipro continued to win by beating also Arkas’ compatriots Fenerbahçe PRL Istanbul by 3-1 25:21, 25:15, 19:25, 26:24).
