CEV Cup: Fenerbahçe and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie last quarterfinalists! SC “Prometey” Dnipro and Allianz Milano eliminated

Last two games of 2023/24 CEV Cup Playoffs were played today and, following their respective games, Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe PRL Istanbul and Poland’s Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie emerged victorious to claim Quarterfinals tickets.
After an unexpected defeat in first leg, Fenerbahçe down Ukraine’s SC “Prometey” Dnipro in just three sets (25:17, 25:21, 25:23), and then also the decisive Golden Set, 15-11.
Nothing to do for Italy’s Allianz Milano who succumbed again against Poland’s Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, 0-3 (22:25, 22:25, 23:25), the same result of the first leg in Poland.
The winners, who needed two sets to progress to quarterfinals, were led in score by Bartosz Kwolek, top scorer of the match with 17 points to his name including 1 winning blocks, 2 aces and 61% in attack.

Now SVG Lüneburg, directly from Champions League, will face Greece’s AONS Milon NEA Smyrni Athens in quarterfinals, Arkas Izmir will welcome Olympiacos Piraeus, Asseco Resovia Rzészow will face Aluron in all-polish derby and Fenerbahçe will face Greenyards Maaseik.
