Waiting for the last two games scheduled on Sunday, Round 18 of 2023/24 Axa Sigorta Efeler Ligi Metin GörgĂŒn Sezonu started today with first five games, without major upsets.
Leaders Halkbank celebrated a 1-3 (22:25, 23:25, 25:20, 22:25) win on the field of Rams Global Cizre Bld., despite the hosts’ 14 winning blocks but with an almost unstoppable Nimir Abdel Aziz, absolute top scorer of the game with 31 points through 54% in attack, 3 aces and 3 blocks.
This triumph marks Halkbank’s 18th victory, propelling them to a total of 50 points in the league standings.
Veteran player İzzet Ünver expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting their resilience despite a demanding program:
Despite the fatigue, we are proud to continue our winning streak. Today’s match was against a formidable opponent, and this win in Cizre is a significant boost to our confidence as we prepare for the next game,” he said, praising his team’s effort and wishing Rams Global Cizre Bld success in their future endeavors.
No problem for Ziraat Bankkart, who needed just 1 hour and 7 minutes to destroy Bursa BBSK (25:12, 25:22, 25:16), and for Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, who beat Hatay B.ƞehir Bld. with the same result (25:18, 25:12, 25:23) with 15 points by top scorer Jan Hadrava (68% in attack with 1 ace and 1 block).
Home win also for Develi Bld. over TĂŒrßad, 3-1 (30:32, 25:18, 25:21, 25:18), while Spor Toto also won in four sets on the field of last-placed Bigadiç Bld. – 1-3 (23:25, 25:16, 14:25, 25:27), with 21 points by Bozidar Vucicevic.
