Italy: road to semifinals! What about Verona-Civitanova and Perugia-Piacenza?

With 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca quarterfinals archived last Sunday with the win of Gas Sales BluEnergy Piacenza over Valsa Group Modena and the team coached by Dante Boninfante who joined Sir Susa Scai Perugia, Cucine Lube Civitanova and Rana Verona, Semifinals will start between Sunday 5 and Monday 6 April 2026 (full playoffs schedule here).

On Easter Sunday, at 6pm Local Time, No.2 in regular season Rana Verona, who eliminated No.7 Allianz Milano in Game 4, will welcome No.6 Cucine Lube Civitanova who, in quarterfinals, prevailed over defending champions Itas Trentino in just three games.
The two already faced each others three times in ongoing season, with two straight sets win in favor of Civitanova, in regular season, and one in Semifinals of DelMonte®️Supercoppa in Trieste, in which Verona won in four sets.
Historically, Verona played against Civitanova in 58 official games, and won only 11 times, facing each others in playoffs four times, always in quarterfinals, with 8 matches played,
with 8 wins for Civitanova and 2 for Verona, both in 2022/23 season, wasting a 2-0 lead in best-of-five series and then suffering Lube’s comeback who collected three victories in a row and the ticket for semifinals, in which they faced Allianz Milano who surprisingly eliminated Perugia, also in 5 games, but this is another story.

On Easter Monday, April 6 2026, at 5.30pm Local Time, regular season winners Sir Susa Scai Perugia, who eliminated No.8 Vero Volley Monza in three games, will welcome No.5 Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza in first official duel between the two in the playoffs!
The 19 games between Perugia and Piacenza played so far are all in Regular Season, Del Monte® Coppa Italia (2 semifinals, in 2022 and 2023), Del Monte® Supercoppa (2024 in Florence) and Play Offs for 3rd place in 2024/25 season, with Perugia who, with a victory, earned ticket for the Champions League.
In the official report, Perugia won 17 times, and the only two successes of Piacenza were in Coppa Italia semifinals, in 2022/23, when they also won the trophy, and second leg game of 2023/24 Regular Season.
