Poland: Round 23 continues – Częstochowa stun Resovia! 3 points also for Gdańsk

After 3 advances played yesterday,
in which Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie earned 3 points, Round 23 of 2023/24 Plusliga or, if you prefer, Round 8 of second leg, continues today with other two games.
Volleyball Sunday starts with an upset, the four sets away win of newcomers Exact Systems Hemarpol Częstochowa, now at 12th place in tue standings over No.4 Asseco Resovia Rzeszów – 1-3 (25:17, 19:25, 20:25, 25:27).
With Yacine Louati on the bench and Klemen Čebulj author of only one point in 8 attempts, and the consequent 13% in attack, to make the difference among the winners were Dawid Dulski, absolute top scorer of the game with 25 points to his name through 60% in attack also with 3 winning blocks and 1 ace, and an almost perfect Aymen Bouguerra, who also contributed with 16 points, all in attack, through an impressive 80% and MVP award.
3 points also for Trefl Gdańsk, who down Ślepsk Malow Suwałki in tue second game of the day by 3-1 (25:20, 22:25, 25:16, 25:18) in front of 2650 home fans, led by MVP Mikołaj Sawicki, top scorer of the match with 22 points to his name through 52% in attack, including 3 aces and 2 of his team’s 11 winning blocks, closely follower by Kewin Sasak who added 19, just like Bartosz Filipiak on the other side of the net (1 ace and 53% in attack). With these 3 very important points, Gdańsk rise to fifth place of the standings at -2 from Resovia.
Round 23 will continue tomorrow with other 2 games: GKS Katowice will face Indykpol AZS Olsztyn while, in the evening, last-placed Enea Czarni Radom will welcome PSG Stal Nysa.
