2033/24 Plusliga continued on Monday with other two games.
In a nail-biting encounter of Round 23, GKS Katowice secured a hard-fought victory against Indykpol AZS Olsztyn after an exciting five-set battle.
The home team emerged victorious dealing a blow to the visitors’ playoff aspirations in a match which saw both teams fiercely contesting each set. Eventually, GKS Katowice managed to down the rivals with a final 3-2, partially 18:25, 25:23, 23:25, 25:20 and 15:10.
After 153 minutes of play, Jakub Jarosz, who contributed with 25 points (53% in attack and 5 aces), was named MVP of the game, while Lukas Vasina added 11 points to the winners’ tally. On the losing side, Alan Souza led the charge with 24 points to his name (51% in attack with 2 winning blocks), closely followed by Manuel Armoa with 21 points (1 ace, 2 blocks and 51% in attack too).
Despite occupying the bottom spot in the current standings, Enea Czarni Radom, coached by Waldo Kantor, haven’t given up hope of staying in PlusLiga, as they secured a 3-1 (25:23, 21:25, 25:16, 30:28) well-deserved home victory against PSG Stal Nysa in an exciting match that closed, at least for now, Round 23 (waiting for the last game scheduled on March 19 between Projekt Warszawa and PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów).
Nikola Meljanac was the most prolific player of the game with as many as 28 points to his name through 60% in attack, with 2 winning blocks and 1 ace, while MVP Wiktor Rajsner added 15 with 1 ace, 5 winning blocks and 69% in attack.
