Mevza League: Final is Ok Calcit Kamnik – OK Merkur Maribor! Myjava and hosts Aich/Dob defeated in semifinals

The final of 2023/24 MEVZA League, held in Bleiburg, will be between two teams from Slovenia, Calcit Kamnik and OK Merkur Maribor, who will face each others at Jufa Arena from 4pm local time!
The first one easily defeated VO TJ Spartak Myjava from Slovakia with a clear 3-0 (25:17, 25:19, 25:16), after just 1 hour and 4 minutes of play! With 58% of team performance in attack and 12 winning blocks in just three sets, the winners were led in score by Lazaro Brunett Llanes author of 16 points through 64% in attack and 2 blocks.
Their rivals in final OK Merkur Maribor had to fight hard to prevail over the hosts SK Zadruga Aich/Dob, winning the game only at tie break, 2-3 (28:26, 25:22, 18:25, 19:25, 12:15). Rok Bračko and Connor McConnell were decisive, scoring 24 and 21 points respectively, with 61% in attack for the first one with 1 ace and 1 block, and 53% in attack and 3 aces for the second.
Angelos Mandilaris scored 28 points for Aich/Dob (including 1 ace and 2 winning blocks, through 54% in attack), but he wasn’t enough.
