European Silver League: Week 2 is over – Austria and Israel to the top!

After second week of 2024 European Silver League, Austria and Israel (who won both their games last week) share first place in the standings after three games played at Torshavnar Ittrottar – og Samkomuholl at Faroe Islands.
In first game of the week played on Friday, the hosts celebrated a hard-fought 0-3 (24:26, 23:25, 19:25) over Iceland, with 20 points from top scorer Bjarni Joensen.
Iceland collapsed also against current leaders Austria, also 3-0 (25:20, 25:23, 25:19), who also down the hosts on the Sunday, with the same result, 0-3 (18:25, 16:25, 13:25), in just 61 minutes of play.
In both games, Michael Czerwinski left the court as top scorer with 23 points on Saturday, and 19 on Sunday (75% in attack including 3 aces and 1 block), when was well supported by Clemens Ecker, who added 16.
Competition will continue on Friday, at Park Strumica in North Macedonia.
