Poland: titleholders Jastrzębski Węgiel down Warszawa in big match of Round 4! 3 points also for Gdańsk

After the advance played on September 18 in which Asseco Resovia Rzeszów won in four sets on the field of Barkom Każany Lwów, Round 4 of 2024/25 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
The day started with the win of Trefl Gdańsk on the field of Ślepsk Malow Suwałki with the score of 1-3 (23:25, 25:22, 25:27, 21:25), with Piotr Orczyk earning MVP honors after scoring 19 points (54% attack, 2 blocks, 1 ace).
The top scorer of the game was Bartosz Filipiak from the losing side with 22 points to his name.
In the evening, defending champions Jastrzębski Węgiel secured a 3-1 (25:19, 21:25, 25:14, 25:20) victory against PGE Projekt Warszawa in the highly anticipated fourth-round match of PlusLiga, with the third set that saw the home team dominate with an emphatic 25-14 scoreline!
Jakub Popiwczak, libero for Jastrzębski Węgiel, was named MVP of the match, while Tomasz Fornal led the charge with 19 points to his name (53% attack, 1 ace, 1 block).
For PGE Projekt Warszawa, Bartłomiej Bołądź was the most prolific player with 11 points but struggled with only 35% attack efficiency and several errors.
Round 4 will continue tomorrow with other two games: BOGDANKA LUK Lublin will welcome PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów while, in the evening, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will face GKS Katowice.
