In a fragmented Round 4 of 2024/25 PlusLiga, Bogdanka LUK Lublin secured a 3-0 (25:23, 25:21, 25:19) victory over PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów.
Despite Grzegorz Łomacz reaching a milestone of 500 matches in Polish elite competition, his team suffered their first loss of the season. The winners, on the other hand, celebrated their fourth consecutive win, with Wilfredo Leon earning the MVP title with 14 points to his name through 67% attack efficiency, 42% positive reception, one ace, and one block, well supported by Kewin Sasak, who added 13.
For Bełchatów, on the other side of the net, Amin Esmaeilnezhad and Miran Kujundzic contributed with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
In the evening, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie needed four sets to win against a very combative GKS Katowice, 3-1 (23:25, 27:25, 26:24, 25:17), after more than 2 hours of play.
Aaron Russell led the charge with 21 points to his name through 57% in attack and 5 of his team’s 12 winning blocks (only 5 for Katowice), well supported by Karol Butryn and Patryk Łaba, who added 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Bartosz Gomułka scored 17 points too on the other side of the net.
Round 4, started on September 18, will close next week.
