Italy: Round 3 is over. 3 points for Civitanova, Padova, Piacenza and Trento

After two advances played yesterday, in which Sir Susa Vim Perugia and Rana Verona celebrated two straight sets away wins over their respective rivals, Round 3 of 2024/25 Superlega CredemBanca has been closed today with the other 4 games.
Volleyball Sunday started with Cucine Lube Civitanova who celebrated a decisive 3-0 (25:20, 25:22, 25:22) victory over Mint Vero Volley Monza confirming their undefeated path so far in front of their home fans.
The same Monza that, also under the command of head coach Massimo Eccheli last season, had won three times in Civitanova!
To make the difference in first set were 10 points from Adis Lagumdzija (9/9 in attack and 1 block), not by chance then MVP of the game energizing the crowd of 3,500 fans, decisive for an 82% ot team performance in attack, also thanks to 5/5 from Eric Loeppky. The second one was balanced, but with the hosts, again, better in key moments of the game also thanks to Loeppky from the service line, a monster block from Lagumdzija and a couple of good attack from Mattia Bottolo. In third set, Civitanova had to recover from a 5 points deficit to close the game, with 2 decive aces, including the one from Lagumdzija (19 points at the end of the match through 70% in attack, 2 aces and 3 winning blocks) that closed the game, and 3 blocks.
Double digit also for Eric Loeppky, who added 10 while, for Monza, the most prolific players were Luka Marttila (12) and Arthur Szwarc (10).
A great Sonepar Padova triumphed by 1-3 (25:18, 25:27, 23:25, 18:25) on the field Gioiella Prisma Taranto, with Marko Sedlacek earning MVP honors after a 22-point performance. Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza also secured a 1-3 (22:25, 25:19, 20:25, 23:25) win of the field of Cisterna Volley, highlighted by MVP Antoine Brizard’s exceptional play, to remain undefeated after 3 games and to the top of the current standings with 9 points together with Itas Trentino, who overcame Allianz Milano with the same result, 1-3 (29:31, 27:29, 25:22, 18:25), in a tightly contested match.

Trento also recovered Kamil Rychlicki, who suffered an ankle injury in Supercup in Florence, and fielded in the final instead a very good Gabi Garcia (18 points for him at the end of the match).
Milano fought hard in first three, all ended overtime, to collapse in fourth one, also suffering the rivals’ block (12 the end of the match. MVP award to Alessandro Michieletto, who left the court with 23 points to his name through 45% in attack, 2 winning blocks and 3 aces.
